FIREBLAST – Dreams To Life (2018)
Signed by British specialized record label ZRecords, FIREBLAST are set to released their debut album “Dreams To Life” tomorrow. Hailing from Argentina, Fireblast play classic melodic hard rock with AOR catchiness, inspired by the greats of the genre putting their own stamp on it.
South America seems to be a fertile land for classic, ’80s melodic rock. While an underground genre in that part of the globe and most the bands aim to international markets (hence, lyrics are in English), there’s many young acts in Brazil, Argentina, Chile, etc, keeping the flame alive.
Fireblast’s brand of Melodic Hard Rock / AOR is plenty of sweet melodies, strong melodious guitar riffs, keyboard runs and catchy choruses. All songs in “Dreams To Life” are good, indeed very good songs with no fillers in sight.
The CD opens with the soaring ‘Daydreaming’ where the stinging guitars (finely tracked in separated stereo) dominate the scene, but as on the entire disc there’s a keyboard presence, elaborated harmony vocals and strong leads by vocalist Tato Pastor.
‘Frozen Tears’ is the first single / video (check below) another pumping AOR tune with a great chorus, ‘Dreams to Life’ sports an anthemic chorus in a song with a little American influence, then ‘Eye of the Storm’ has a more classic rock sound akin the ’80s British scene.
More quality music comes with melodic hard rocker ‘Falling’, the racing AOR of ‘Russian Roulette’ (a little Scandinavian touch here), and midtempo ‘Winds’.
Fireblast provide a ballad in the acoustical ‘Survivor’, including real strings / cellos in a highly harmonized, sing-along sweet tune with pleasant atmosphere.
Fireblast and their debut “Dreams To Life” are one of the surprises this year: a quality band and a quality recording from a South American / Argentinian band with nothing to envy to any European act of the genre.
The album was produced by founder member / songwriter Hernan Nori (guitar) and second guitarist Lucas Conforti, who owns a recording studio so they had plenty of time to polish every detail. All sounds really professional, very well mixed as well.
Go and get it folks, Fireblast’s “Dreams To Life” is a lovely slice of timeless quality Melodic Rock / AOR of all times.
