MIKE + THE MECHANICS – Silent Running [The Masters Collection / Remastered] (2018)

MIKE + THE MECHANICS are working in a new album, and meanwhile their new record label just released a great 2-CD compilation titled “Silent Running [The Masters Collection]”.
“Silent Running (The Masters Collection)” comes with quite a strange cover artwork (featuring mastermind Mike Rutherford), but it contains a really good mix of tracks from their ’80s debut album up until their last 2017 Let Me Fly CD.

Indeed, this a really complete compilation all of Mike + The Mechanics eras, brong the very beginning to present time.
Some interesting tracks are included, such as a couple of b-sides and ‘One By One’, a track from the Living Years session which was released on The Singles a few years ago for the first time.
All the early recordings are remastered, such as the hits, ‘Over My Shoulder’, ‘All I Need Is a Miracle’, and ‘Silent Running (On Dangerous Ground)’

I don’t know you, but I always loved Mike + The Mechanics, the band formed in 1985 as a side project of Mike Rutherford, the bassist/guitarist and one of the founding members of Genesis. Their brand of melodic rock&pop is characterized for its polished tone and clear production.

A very complete 2-CD release to have all the best Mike + The Mechanics up-to-date.
