In celebration of 50 years of THIN LIZZY, Universal Music are presenting today “Rock Legends” box set, the first installment of an archive release programme for the Irish rock staples. The Japanese release is pressed on SHM-CD, a Limited hard box housing 6 discs and a DVD.
We have a mammoth 99 tracks in total, 74 of which are unreleased and 83 have never been released on CD or streaming before. It is simply the ultimate THIN LIZZY box-set.
The material embraces Lizzy’s entire career and has been newly mastered by Andy Pearce (Rock Candy Records) and has been compiled by Thin Lizzy’s celebrated guitarist Scott Gorham along with band expert Nick Sharp. It embraces a collection of newly-discovered tapes, most of which have never been heard.

Rock Legends’ first disc consists of hard to find 7” single versions of 22 Thin Lizzy songs, including “Whiskey in the Jar,” “The Boys Are Back in Town” an “Dancing in the Moonlight.”
Four discs of demos, live takes and alternate versions – one from their time on Decca and three from their Mercury years – follow. The ‘Mercury demos’ are quite awesome, showcasing THIN LIZZY at their creative peak.
The sixth disc features highlights from two of their three dates at London’s Hammersmith Odeon in support of 1980’s album ‘Chinatown’.
A killer band, and a killer release.
A MUST

  1. Ed Marks says:

Thanks for this killer Thin Lizzy collection. Do you have a remastered SHM version (or just a regular either SHM or remastered version) of Thin Lizzy Thunder and Lightning? Are there remastered SHM versions of other Thin Lizzy releases?

  2. Sue Perbe says:

    Thank you so much.

  3. Örjan says:

Thanx a lot! Is there any GOOD remasters of all albums by Thin Lizzy? Or a box with all albums? Have most of them on LP, but they are kind of “torn down” by now.
