ATLAS – Demos ’17​-20 (2021)

British melodic rockers ATLAS are presenting today “Demos ’17​-​20“, a collection of early recordings which lead their contract with AOR Heaven Records for the release of the band’s debut album.
The young group consists of 5 mid-20’s musicians with a strong passion for classic AOR / Melodic Rock, with several influences that shaped the band from icons Toto & Journey, to modern era AOR like W.E.T, Work Of Art & Eclipse.
Some tracks are slightly different to the final versions, and there’s unreleased material as well.

‘Bad Habit’ is one of the songs that better describes Atlas music; there’s pretty edgy verses, the chorus is pure UK AOR circa 1987, while the mid-section has a proggy feeling, think Balance Of Power or early Dream Theater, Images & Words era, before returning to that catchy chorus again. Very strong stuff, and as said, quite unique and original.

‘As Time Goes By’ surprises with its modern AOR sound in the vein of current Scandi greats, then ‘Seasons Change’ is another sample of Atlas’ versatility, mixing punchy melodic rock with hard rock groove and yet another infectious chorus.
‘Human Touch‘ showcases the physical side of love with no strings attached, while ‘Here With You‘ is a declaration of love lyrically and musically.

Atlas is a singular band, an a really welcomed act to the current Melodic / Hard Rock / AOR scene, offering something different. These are professionally recorded demos: good enough to convince AOR Heaven to sign the band.
