LARS ERIC MATTSSON – The Outsider (2021)
”The Outsider” is the new (double) album from Swedish guitarist LARS ERIC MATTSSON, a very big project with ten different singers and music composed during the last two years in a way it can be seen as a concept double album but of course enjoyable as standalone songs.
From melodic hard rock to epic hard / melodic metal in the Scandinavian fashion, ”The Outsider” includes varied material performed by excellent musicians including vocalists Göran Edman, Conny Lind (from AORsters Amaze Me), Niko Mattila (Force Majeure) and more, also talented female singers such as Adrienn Antal (Black Diamonds) or Daphne Nisi (Elysium), etc.
This double album is made out of 19 tracks (almost 81 minutes!) of classic melodic hard rock with a progressive touch including a few ballads and three instrumentals.
Lars says it’s his most well crafted and probably also most accessible work to date and that no song could be left out as that would make the picture of where he is at this moment in life incomplete.
