AKIBA MUSIC – Compassion (2022)

AKIBA MUSIC is the brainchild of a young Spanish musician, Hector Perez a.k.a. Akiba, where he made a wonderful fusion of Japanese culture – manga / arcade computer games & Classic AOR / Melodic Rock.
‘Akiba’ is an abbreviation for Tokyo’s neighborhood called “Akihabara”, were fans of retro games exchange material. Hector a.k.a. Akiba call the music he created “RetroGaming Melodic Hard Rock”.
And indeed, among his guitars, keys, and the vocals handled by Jesus Espin from melodic rockers 91 Suite, we can hear mixed all over these songs the sound of legendary game consoles such as Nintendo, Game Boy, or Atari, among others.
Titled “Compassion”, AKIBA MUSIC’s debut album mixed & mastered by Ivan Gonzalez (guitar player of 91 Suite, Secret) delivers a sweet collection of melodic rock tunes with dreamy AOR harmonies and an ‘arcade’ game touch. This is pure ’80s!
