Swedish Rockers CIRKUS PRÜTZ are releasing their brand new studio album “Blues Revolution”, the first on Metalville Records and I hope the label push this terrific band to become widely known. As the album title makes clear, these guys fuse classic hard rock with rockin’ blues.
The band is not afraid to break the limits of both genres, one moment you hear a shuffle retro blues rock, at others a sharp riff. With classic hard rock patterns, boogie woogies, and just plain great rippin’ blues this album should please all fans of blues and rock alike.
Well, there’s a lot of talent in CIRKUS PRÜTZ; frontman Christian Carlsson is the guitarist / backing vocalist for underrated classic rockers THE QUILL, guitarist Franco Santunione played for ELECTRIC BOYS, while the rhythm section were part of W.E.T. for live tours.
This album really should inspire a ‘blues revolution’. In a time of backing tracks, lip-synching and simply the strange state that the industry is in… CIRKUS PRÜTZ is the real deal, a killer classic blues-rock band to die for.

The production balances each member out perfectly and instrumentation & vocals come through crystal clear and complement each other on every track. The first song title track “Blues Revolution” is a modern day blues anthem and kicks off the album superbly and stands as a symbol for what follows.
With tracks like “Modern day Gentleman” “Headache” and “Boogie Woogie Man” you get more pulsing modern rocking blues sounding tracks.

The treat of the album are songs like “Let’s Join Hands” and “Death Knock Blues”; while still maintaining the classic sound these tracks really take the album to the next level musically and maintain that relatable-lyrics aspect of the blues that we all know and love – such as “Life ain’t easy if you lose your spark” .
All together, “Blues Revolution” is a fantastic blues rock album for the modern day. We should all delight that the genre that started it all is still alive and well in the hands of CIRKUS PRÜTZ.

    Great album. Love this one!

One remark though. The lead singer for the Quill is Magnus Ekwall. Christian Carlsson is “just the guitar player”.

Nevertheless, The Quill is a great band. Very much worth checking!
