DREAMTIDE – Epic Dreamdust (2023)

DREAMTIDE, the other band of Fair Warning guitarist Helge Engelke, graced us past year with a comeback album after long time freezed: the enjoyable ‘Drama Dust Dream’. The deluxe Japanese release included an exclusive bonus CD titled “Epic Dreamdust“, now finally available world-wide 2023.
Including long time members Olaf Senkbeil (lead vocals) and Torsten Luederwaldt (keyboards, vocals) alongside newbies bassist Lars Lehmann (known from works with UFO to Uli Roth, everything in between and beyond) plus drummer Horst Guntram Schlag, the band recorded these extra songs with the same melodic hard rock feeling of the a main album.
Despite the line up changes, the sound and core values of DREAMTIDE remain the same with Lehmann and Schlag seamlessly slotting into their positions and seem to have instantly forged a great rapport. Engelke shows himself to be the master guitarist we all know with some beautifully soloing and there is a great touch of acoustics into the mix on “Epic Dreamdust” which shows another dimension of the band’s repertoire.

The production is exemplary (same sessions from ‘Drama Dust Dream’), clear and precise, honoring the remarkable technique of the musicians and reinforces the purity of the melodic lines which abound in this opus.
