Following the critically acclaimed albums “Origin Of Species” (‘A Prog Rock masterpiece’ – Classic Rock Magazine) and “Frozen War” (‘A rock tour de force with melody, shredding, and orchestral flourishes’ – Prog Rock UK) DARWIN is back with a new album titled “Five Steps On The Sun“.
DarWin is songwriter, guitar player and producer. Influenced by bands ranging from Dream Theater to the Beatles, DarWin writes songs that merge powerful grooves and heavy guitars with intricate vocal harmonies.
“Five Steps On The Sun” is another collaboration with impressive drummer Simon Phillips (TOTO, JEFF BECK). And the musicians involved are no less impressive: Matt Bissonette (Elton John, David Lee Roth) who play bass by also does incredible lead vocals, Derek Sherinian, guitar virtuosos Greg Howe & Andy Timmons and more.
Musically this new album is very melodic, with virtuoso playing yet always with the song as focus.
