More music from outstanding singer Robin McAuley has been requested at 0dayrox, and now we have here a band / project not so well known by melodic hard rock aficionados: GMT, and their only recording, 1985’s mini-LP vinyl titled “One By One”.
This is the reissue for the first time on CD done in 1991 by Mausoleum Records, re-titled “War Games” and including an extra track.
GMT was a super-band, including McAuley, Chris Glen (MSG) on bass, Phil Animal Taylor (Motörhead) on drums, and Marcus Schleicher (Craaft) on guitar. The talented names doesn’t end there, as Phil Lanzon (Uriah Heep’s  keyboardist) and Mick O’Donoughue (Gillan) co-wrote all the songs.

“GMT – War Games” sounds unmistakably British with excellent songwriting, fantastic performances and polished production. Their musical style: that wonderful, unique post-NWOBHM melodic sound mixed with sharp AOR. Think Phenomena or Tobruk.
A great band that didn’t lasted for so long as soon after this mini-LP Robin McAuley joined Michael Schenker in 1986 for the fantastic band McAuley / Schenker Group.
“War Games” may be short – 5 songs – but all awesomely good.
