METALLICA is continuing to release remasters of their catalog, with the latest being the 5x-platinum ”Load”, available on June 13th, Remastered 2025. Produced by Bob Rock, ”Load” is the follow-up to ‘Metallica’, the best-selling album of the Soundscan era.
“Load [Remastered 2025]” contains fan favorites including “Until It Sleeps,” “Hero of the Day,” “King Nothing,” and, for the first time ever, the original extended version of “The Outlaw Torn,” which was originally edited due to manufacturing limits.
There’s a deluxe version including 16(!) CDs, with song ideas, demos, rehearsals and live material, but honestly, that’s for die-hard fans only – ”Load” itself isn’t easy to digest already.
After the incredible Black Album, somehow ”Load” resulted disappointing. It packs some good songs tho, however the alternative sound invaded Metallica’s music, and this is a ‘divisive album’ for sure.
“Load [Remastered 2025]” sound quality is very good, with a clear bass and properly balanced cymbals.
