BLACK ROSE – The Mirror (2025) *HQ*

Sleazy Rider Records is releasing Swedish hard rockers BLACK ROSE new album “The Mirror“, the band’s 8th full-length CD. Originally formed back in 1990 with more than a few time lags between albums and line-up changes, since the last decade BLACK ROSE solidified as a band and and has been presentting new material on regular basis. This benefited the group’s consistency and you can hear that all over the strong 10-tracks on offer here.
BLACK ROSE music is classic European hard rock with melody, sometimes melodic metal. Fans of late Eighties / early Nineties variation of the genre, and especially its sound, should find this album very enjoyable.
While not groundbreaking in term of songwriting, “The Mirror” is packed with cool hooks along with some nice nuances and fills on the guitars so it isn’t all based solely on the vocals to keep the interest. This is all about well-crafted tunes, along with some strong solos to boot.
The band owes a lot to the ’80s days when bands like PRETTY MAIDS and early EUROPE ruled, they take these influences and updated the whole thing with their own style and a modernized sound.
“The Mirror” is yet another solid melodic hard rock album from a band that many will not have heard of but are definitely worthy of investigation. BLACK ROSE began in this ‘game’ more that thirty years ago and for sure they know how this genre/style should be written and played.
