”Under The Covers” collate a rich selection of live cover versions recorded across METALLICA‘s career, recordings from the ’80s, ’90s and 2000’s, featuring songs originally by Black Sabbath, Thin Lizzy, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Diamond Head, Misfits, Budgie, Queen, Motorhead and many others – all Metallica members musical heroes.
Released by Leftfield Media, this is is of course a bootleg CD but silver pressed and well presented, while audio quality differs from some excellent soundboard recordings to audience captures.
We all know Metallica did a lot of covers since their origins and they are very good giving these old songs their own sonic attack. ”Under The Covers” packs many covers, some songs rarely heard and never performed again.
Perhaps a curiosity for casual listeners, but a must have for Metallica fans.
