QUEEN – Anthems (2025) *HQ*

UMG Recordings started the release of QUEEN‘s thematic series compilations, grouping songs in the same musical style from the band’s 3-decade career catalog. Especially compiled and overseen by Brian May & Roger Taylor, here’s the new volume titled “Anthems“.
“Anthems” is a great collection of QUEEN’s recognizable hymns, often played at sporting events and other large gatherings. These songs are considered anthems due to their powerful and uplifting nature, and their ability to evoke strong emotions and unity.
One of the best Queen songs ever is without a doubt ”Don’t Stop Me Now”, and of course when it comes to anthems, “We Will Rock You” and ”We Are The Champions” are two of the highest order. ”Fat Bottomed Girls” is an anthemic bluesy rock romp, sung with gusto by Mercury and proved to be a natural crowd-pleaser.
And yes, sure, “Bohemian Rhapsody” is a masterpiece of modern music. It was a piece of sheer originality that took rock & pop away from the normal path. In December 2018 it was officially recognized as the most-streamed song from the 20th Century.
