QUEEN – ROCK N’ ROLL (2025) *HQ*

Especially compiled and overseen by Brian May & Roger Taylor, here’s the new QUEEN album of thematic series compilations made in association with UMG Recordings – ”QUEEN – ROCK N’ ROLL” – grouping songs in the same musical style from the band’s 3-decade career catalog.
Versatile like a few, QUEEN also wrote some strong rock n’ roll numbers, especially by the hand of May & Taylor. Let’s not forget that QUEEN began as a hard rock band with riff-driven songs aplenty on their first two LP’s. Of course, from the very first, ‘Seven Seas Of Rhye’ is present into this new volume.
We always loved ‘Rock It (Prime Jive)’, a deep cut from 1980’s The Game, a rocking song with some crazy synth. On the protest song ‘Put Out The Fire’ we’ve got a sturdy chugging riff. A pretty raucous solo. And Freddie gives the words a fair amount more creditibily.
Then 1977’s ‘Sleeping on the Sidewalk’ rocks. This is rare thing as this song was recorded live into the studio (vocals were added later), because Queen musicians are perfectionists and always did a lot of post-production. This song is just pure rock n’ roll.
