BAD LOVERZ – Greatest Hits (2025) *HQ*

Los Angeles, 1985: On the stages of the Sunset Strip, anthems rang out that seemed made to last forever. Amidst fog machines and twinkling lights stood BAD LOVERZ, a band like no other. Their energetic performances and their enigmatic, self-invented “Thundersack” – an instrument that roars like a kite and makes a motorcycle explode – promised a breakthrough. But just when they were about to make history, they disappeared without a trace.
Four decades later, they are back. No one knows where they were, what they were doing, or why they are suddenly back.
That fun story is made up by German Medieval Metal act Saltatio Mortis, who created the side band BAD LOVERZ to express their love for ’80s & ’90s music. On their album “Greatest Hits” they cover Greatest Hits of that era, from Bon Jovi and Twisted Sister to Roxette and Britney Spears (!), all hard rocking and with a lot of charm, adding Saltatio Mortis’ instruments like bagpipes, bouzouki, etc, to the mix. It’s all in the AT THE MOVIES fashion.
But this is more than a studio project: BAD LOVERZ performed in various festivals like Wacken Open Air, and even had the whole nation singing ‘Angels’ (Robbie Williams) with them on Germany’s biggest TV show – the ZDF Fernsehgarten. The band said; “We brought the 80s back, louder and brighter. Now your kids know 1986’s Bon Jovi… mission accomplished.”
With a mixture of nostalgia, chaos and an indomitable love for ’80s music, BAD LOVERZ face their greatest challenge yet: will they manage to reclaim their lost crown in a new era? The album is very well done, and all songs are good and fun.
