The just released “Captured By The Light [Live Houston ’80]” features JOURNEY captured live in 1980 during the ”Departure Tour”, a concert recorded in Houston for syndicated broadcast. The recording showcases Journey evolution from progressive rock to arena anthems, something they will perfect with next studio album Escape.
Sure, we have their official live album ‘Captured’, and later the excellent ‘Live in Houston: Escape Tour 1981′, however this “Captured By The Light” isn’t post-produced, it’s just the raw live takes offering something special – the electrifying energy of their prime years.
It’s also a must-have for fans who want to experience Journey beyond the classics, because the band performs here songs that later were removed from their shows. Sound quality is very good, balanced, full stereo.
