Guitarist CHRIS HAGER met vocalist STEPHEN PEARCY in San Diego in 1976 and the pair formed Mickey Ratt a year later, and in moving to L.A. really created the band RATT in 1981. Hager eventually left the band soon after and joined ROUGH CUTT as the replacement for Jake E. Lee, and recorded on the band’s three albums ‘Rough Cutt’, ‘Wants You’, and ‘Rough Cutt 3’.
Sadly, CHRIS HAGER passed away at the age of 67 a few months ago, May 2025.
Stephen Pearcy said; ”Chris was an amazing person, a great guitarist, songwriter and so committed to being just that. He went on to create a few projects over the years with Sarge, Rough Cutt, Woop and and our solo project Pearcy / Hager. We were actually working on new songs recently, and they will be heard. I’m at loss my friend, we’ve been through a lot together. God bless you brother”.
Some of the music from PEARCY / HAGER project (started in the ’90s) was briefly available on digital platforms years ago, but retired, and now become a rarity.
Here we have here in exclusive “Trash“, the PEARCY / HAGER recordings, professionally recorded demos with very good sound quality. These never hear songs simply rock! We can hear why STEPHEN PEARCY wanted ‘that guitar sound’ for RATT circa 1983 – CHRIS HAGER’s set-up, style, riffs & solos are pure early RATT!
We have 10 rocking 80s-style hard rocking numbers, let’s hope Stephen Pearcy release the rest of the sessions soon.
