KIX – Thunderground: The Show Business Demos (2004)

The mid-90s wasn’t easy for classic hard rock bands, especially in America. But Baltimore’s outfit KIX, despite being dropped by major label Atlantic in 1993, kept on fighting. The group professionally recorded a demo with a bunch of new songs, and began shopping labels.
CMC International Records, an indie North Carolina label (before being acquired by BMG Entertainment North America in late 1996), impressed by the power and quality of the new material signed KIX, and the result was their 1995’s album $how Bu$ine$$. However, many of the songs written & recorded for the demo didn’t ended into $how Bu$ine$$, or some were re-worked in arrangements / lyrics later.
This bootleg CD “Thunderground: The Show Business Demos” compile all the professionally demos recorded 1993-1994, plus a couple of live tracks. Sound quality is very good A+
In an interview, KIX’s frontman Steve Whiteman commented he was aware of this bootleg and was happy that fans were able to hear these recording sessions – he said: “I don’t know where they got it, but it is all the unused material from KIX 1993 demos. It is called Kix -Thunderground. It has like 10 songs that were never released, and others re-worked later. Amazing these recordings are out there and they can bootleg that stuff”.
”Thunderground: The Show Business Demos” rocks, raw, hot-blooded, and very well recorded, produced & mixed.
