CHILD’S PLAY – Hammerjacks (1991) *0dayrox Exclusive*

A few days ago we featured in exclusive CHILD’S PLAY ‘Rat Races & Reunions: The Lost Tapes’, the lost recordings from this really good and criminally underrated ’80s American melodic hard rock band.
And the best way to know if a band is good and not just a studio wonder is to catch ’em live. Unfortunately time machine isn’t invented yet to travel back 1980’s / the early ’90s, however at the time many audio soundboard operators recorded everything they were able to – real heroes as they preserved unique moments in time for future generations.
That’s the case with CHILD’S PLAY “Hammerjacks“, a live show from these kick-ass guys captured at the Hammerjacks venue in Baltimore a few days before the Spring 1991, a show performed celebrating local radio station 98-Rock’s 14th birthday and recorded for broadcast. As a curios note, the show was scheduled to take place at Painters Mill Theater in Owings Mill; however the venue burned to the ground the previous night.
“Hammerjacks 1991” is a treasurable document from a bygone era, and a proof of how good CHILD’S PLAY were. This fine tape was provided by the band’s drummer John Allen exclusively for 0dayrox’s readers joy.
