With the release of his new album ”Nothing Left Behind”, British guitarist and singer-songwriter DANNY BRYANT steps into the most personal phase of his two-decade career. Long recognised as one of the leading figures in European blues rock, Bryant now presents a record shaped by honesty, renewal and a clear sense of purpose.
At 45, Bryant looks back on years marked by inner turmoil and excess, but also on a period of recovery and renewed focus. What emerges is a record that feels both reflective and forward-looking, driven by strong songs and a band performance that lifts the material to a higher level.
Musically, while BRYANT is being sold as blues rock artist, but on ”Nothing Left Behind” we also find some sharp melodic rock, even hard, with a bluesy foundation yes, but edgy.
Opener ‘Tougher Now’ sets the tone immediately. Uptempo and confident, it leaves space for keyboards and bass while establishing the full, warm band sound that defines the album. ‘Not Like The Others’ follows with a driving rhythm and convincing vocal delivery, proving that energy and cohesion can outweigh the need for extended guitar solos.

‘Enemy Inside’ opens with a delicate piano introduction before Bryant’s voice enters in a restrained, almost fragile register. The emotional impact is considerable, especially as the song builds towards a sharp, expressive guitar solo before returning to a subdued close. It is one of the album’s most affecting moments.
‘Swagger’ brings back a more traditional stomping rock n roll feel, carried by a pumping rhythm section and strong dual guitar work from Bryant and Marc Raner. ‘Redemption’ slows the pace again, unfolding gradually and allowing its themes of struggle and reflection to sink in. The balance between restraint and intensity is handled with care.

‘Three Times As Hard’ is classic Danny Bryant rocker with that Brit feel, while ‘Nothing Man’ adds an unexpected layer with subtle backing vocals from the band, a buesy tune but very modern, reinforcing its themes of humility and perspective. ‘Missing You’ leans slightly towards a pop sensibility, yet remains sincere and grounded thanks to its steady groove and tasteful guitar work.

‘Lover Like’ You reintroduces fiery guitar lines and rough-edged vocals, with keyboardist Jamie Pipe once again proving to be a crucial presence. ‘Just For You’ is a heartfelt ballad that relies on strong melody and an emotive vocal performance, culminating in a expressive guitar finale.
The instrumental closer, ‘Heatwave Heartbreak’, serves as a fitting conclusion.

Rarely has Danny Bryant sounded this candid and engaged. ”Nothing Left Behind” is varied, rocking, cohesive, and convincingly performed. The songwriting is strong, the arrangements are thoughtful, and the band operates as a genuine unit.
