Organized by musician Michael Riesenbeck (from melodic rockers China Blue, Lec Zorn Project) FANFIELDS is the renowned TOTO Tribute project sanctified by Steve Lukather & co.
FANFIELDS originally came from a 1997 decision by a number of members of the Toto fanclub mailing list to record Toto songs as a tribute to the band. It quickly became a serious project with musicians contributing from all over the world. Fanfields 1 was released in 2001.
On the second release from the project – a 2-CD set – there were over 65 musicians paying tribute to Toto and the heroes that passed away; Jeff Porcaro, Mike Porcaro and Fergie Frederiksen.

The list of stellar musicians is too long to mention, but here are a few names: The complete future Work Of Art band – Lars Safsund / Robert Sall / Herman Furin / Urban Danielsson – Joe Vana (Mecca), Peter Friestedt (Williams / Friestedt), Janne Stark (Grand Design), Nalle Pahlsson (Treat), Thomas Vikstrom (Talk Of The Town), Eric Ragno (Takara, Ted Poley), Phil Vincent (solo, Legion), and many more.

There were other pressings with extra songs / extra disc added, all CD’s exclusively sold via Fanfields website.
An finally appeared this definitive, 5-Disc Version Direct From Fanclub appeared 2016, including all the FANFIELDS recordings to that date (there’s a more recent FANFIELDS 3 released 2021). ‘‘A Fans’ Tribute To Toto [5-CD The Complete Works Box Set]” includes the ‘Fanfields 2 (expanded 3CD)’, a Bonus Disc with newer songs, and as extra the very first ‘Fanfields 1’ CD.
FANFIELDS were praised for its honest feel and great musicianship – there’s some truly awesome versions included here. A collectors piece box set.
