As requested, here’s the very hard to find Japanese remastered reissue of GLENN FREY 1984’s album ”The Allnighter”, pressed on SHM-CD and including bonus tracks. This is the only remastering available of ”The Allnighter”, a ‘Nineties type’, fortunately not brickwalled.

After the demise of the Eagles, GLENN FREY started a solo career with his modestly successful debut album, ”The Allnighter” is his second solo LP released in mid-1984, a record with the smooth, cristal clear production sound from the era. It was and still is Frey’s most successful solo album, having reached No. 22 on the Billboard charts, and releasing two top 20 singles with “Smuggler’s Blues” and “Sexy Girl”.
While still retaining that Eagles feeling on a couple of tracks (”Lovers Moon” probably would have gone to number 1 if released as a single under the Eagles banner), Frey delivers here material with a much more rocking bluesy feeling, then radio-friendly rock & pop on other cuts, even flirting with Hi-Tech AOR on one track.

This Japanese reissue (which we like respect the original LP cover art, several countries features the original LP back cover, Frey pictured) adds 3 excellent bonus tracks: Frey’s ’80s contributions for movie soundtracks; ”The Heat Is On” (From Beverly Hills Cop Soundtrack), the sick-guitar driven ”Flip City” (from Ghostbusters II Soundtrack), and his greatest solo song ever; ”You Belong To The City” (from Miami Vice Soundtrack).
