As requested, here’s the only album by Scandinavian songwriting duo of Jan “Parber” Pedersen (Vocals, Keyboards) and guitarist Jes Kerstein – PARBER & KERSTEIN. Titled “Stories From The Heart” and originally released 1991, this is the CD reissue including a bonus track sung Tommy Rasmussen from Danish rockers Skagarack.
Speaking of Skagarack, bassist Morten Munch produced this record (and play some guitar) with a refined, smooth sound quality. PARBER & KERSTEIN songwriting is inspired by TOTO, Talk Of The Town, Harlan Cage, etc. musically lite AOR rich in harmonies and melodic choruses.
However, this isn’t cookie/cutter stuff – the use of hooks and melodies is quite non-traditional at times, pretty imaginative with a power pop sheen too, but always clever and interesting.
“Stories From The Heart” is one of those seemingly criminally overlooked releases – in part due its limited original release but even with this reissue a few years back. A shame, as this album is right up there among the finest from the Scandi Westcoast genre.

In 2001 Parber & Kerstein were working on new material for an upcoming album. They released a single with the official ITU Triathlon World Championship 2001 Song. This is the bonus track on this CD reissue featuring Tommy Rasmussen (ex- Skagarak) on vocals.
That second album never was released.
