RAVE IN FIRE – Square One (2026) *HQ*

320_1 /// 320_2 /// HQ 1 /// HQ 2
RAVE IN FIRE are a rising female-fronted traditional metal band, founded in Madrid in 2015. Their first complete line-up led to the release of their debut EP in 2018, followed by their debut full-length “Sons Of A Lie” in April 2022 via Iron Oxide which was a pivotal moment in the band’s career.
Now signed by High Roller Records, RAVE IN FIRE will release their new LP “Square One“, a collection classic melodic metal songs driven by a powerful female voice.
Tracks such as “Dark Poison,” “Knightwalker,” and the high-octane “Speed And Rave” channel the spirit of Warlock and Ann Boleyn’s Hellion, fused with early ’80s Scorpions and a touch of DIO. The title track, “Square One,” stands as the album’s grand epic, leaning into progressive metal territory.
The nice side of RAVE IN FIRE is the muscular combination of Selene Perdiguero’s clean vocals and Jonjo’s sharp guitar attack. Add to that a solid rhythm section and a dynamic production and the album rocks all over with classy metal bounce and trad hsrd rock groove.
Selene’s voice is perfect for this type of metal, oscillating somewhere between powerful, slightly raspy, and surprisingly versatile. She never sounds like a mere copy of classic metal queens, but rather gives the material a unique and instantly recognizable character.
Songs like the aforementioned “Dark Poison ,” “Knightwalker, ” and “Speed and Rave” really push the pace, while “Crown of Stars” and ” Still Standing” are more melodic and anthemic without sounding watered down.
If the speedy “Untiring Eagles” doesn’t get you going, then nothing will. This thing blasts, grooves, sweeps you away, and is instantly catchy. Exactly the kind of song you’d belt out live in the front row, sweaty shirt on, grinning like a maniac.
The title track provides a more prog-metal finale, demonstrating that the band wants more than just mindlessly reproducing ’80s metal.
”Square One” is a fun and rocking, a likeable, playful heavy metal album that proves you can still make classic metal in 2026 without sounding like an old-timers’ club. RAVE IN FIRE have further honed their own style, expanded their comfort zone a bit, and delivered a work that invites you to press play again.
Give this young band a go, you won’t be disappointed.
