VALENTINE (Hugo) – Live At Firefest IV (2008)

We featured all the HUGO / VALENTINE albums here, however your collection isn’t complete without this “Live At Firefest IV” CD they released in 2008. The concert was recorded the previous year at The Firefest Festival in Rock City, Nottingham, UK, October 27, 2007 > VALENTINE’s comeback show, their first since the early Nineties.
In fact, VALENTINE reunited again because Firefest Magazine was pushing the fans to ask the band for a return. And they did it for the Festival. And things went so fine, with the chemistry intact, that the band decided to record a new studio album too. The result was the comeback CD ‘Soul Salvation’ we featured yesterday.
“Live At Firefest IV” is a wonderful show with tracks from the first 1990 Valentine album, songs from the excellent Open Skyz band Hugo & Co. formed after, and a cover of Kansas’ classic ‘Carry On Wayward Son’. The band is well oiled, tight and precise, Hugo’s voice intact.
A now rare release originally released by Firefest Records mostly sold at shows.
