GABRIELLE De VAL – Time To Die (2026) *HQ*

While working with expert Tommy Denander (Guitar, Bass, Keyboards) on her 3rd upcoming album ‘Revolution’, GABRIELLE De VAL and the label Pride & Joy decided to give the world a preview track of what’s to come with her latest single, ‘Time To Die’. To entice fans further, she decided to release the song as part of an EP, including previously unreleased songs and an original demo of a track off her debut.
We see why Gabrielle wanted to highlight this song and release it to promote an EP. The song is a beast! Gabrielle wails on ‘Time To Die’, with the opening grabbing you by the throat to command your attention. We also dug the premise of the track. It’s a tribute to the 1982 sci-fi classic Blade Runner. The chorus is a verbatim translation of the speech Rutger Hauer’s character gives in the movie. It’s a bit of a strange concept, but Gabrielle’s dedication, intensity, and delivery make it work.
Fast, furious, anthemic and effective, ‘‘Time To Die’ should be the most rocking song Tommy Denander has been involved with is many years. And Gabrielle soars.
The EP also sees a further three unreleased tracks: the modern AOR bombast of ‘Shine’ by Denander, and the beautifully poignant ‘The Jig-Saw Man’ by De Va / Mee. Both tracks were removed from De Val’s previous album ‘I Am, The Hammer’ at the last minute.
The final track is the original version of ‘Hold On’, a duet with Seven’s Mick Devine. This track was totally re-arranged by Boston’s Gary Pihl, who featured on guitar in the final version on ‘Kiss In A Dragon Night’. This original version is a much more sedate and beautiful recording.
