GENTLEMAAD! – GentleMaad! (2026) HQ *0dayrox EXCLUSIVE*

320_1 /// 320_2 /// HQ 1 /// HQ 2
Powerful and melodic, GENTLEMAAD! delivers hard rock rooted in the golden age of the ’80s. Blending Melodic Hard, Glam, AOR and Metal influences, the band crafts catchy riffs, soaring melodies and an unmistakable old-school spirit. Formed in 2021, after a first demo released in 2023 GentleMaad! unveiled their first music video in early 2025, followed by their debut album in December 2025 / January 2026.
Here’s in exclusive at 0dayrox, “GentleMaad!“, the self-titled debut from this very good French band.
From the cover artwork to the first vocal lines and opening guitar riff, there’s a sense of warmth and authenticity here that takes you back to a time when songs were constructed around strong melodies, catchy choruses, and guitar hooks. This isn’t just retro for the sake of nostalgia; it feels like a real continuation of that eternal legacy.
The production plays an important role in creating this sensation. Everything is carefully balanced, allowing the instruments to operate normally while giving the vocals and chorus their proper space. The choruses, in particular, are obviously intended for sing-along times; catchy and melodic without losing the hard rock edge.
Songs like ‘Don’t Need You’, ‘Days of the Past’, ‘Kingdom of Lies’, or the title track ‘GentleMaad!’ sports the type of refrain that would have been ideal for FM radio back in the day, driving both chart success and a connection with the audience.
The guitar licks, the guitar sound, the layered backing vocals – all in “GentleMaad!” feels like 1987-1989. However it isn’t retro nostalgia or parody, but the aim to get fun with a fist in the air.
GENTLEMAAD! manage everything by themselves, and very well, including the polished production and excellent video clips.
