GLORIOUS BANKROBBERS – Intruder (2026) *HQ*

320_1 /// 320_2 /// HQ 1 /// HQ 2
Swedish rock ’n’ roll trailblazers GLORIOUS BANKROBBERS return with their highly anticipated new studio album, ”Intruder”. Recorded at House of Voodoo in Stockholm during spring 2025 and mixed by Robert Pehrsson at Studio Humbucker, ”Intruder” delivers 12 fresh tracks that showcase the band’s full range.
The record spans the band’s signature high-energy, explosive action rock while showcasing new creative horizons—including a powerful orchestrated ballad that underscores the band’s fearless evolution.
Musically, the band serves catchy hard rock ‘n’ roll with bite, great hooks, and often a real earworm. The sharp bag of riffs with generous doses of Southern and Glam Rock are presented to the listener in a simple but very enjoyable delivery.
This is Glorious Bankrobbers at their best: raw, fearless, and proving once again that true rock ‘n roll never dies. This ’80s cult hard rockin’ act sounds as fresh as they did in 1984.
The opening track, “The Hunting Grounds,” sets the bar high. Petersson ‘s guitar work shines with edgy riffs, underpinned by Vamvatsicos’ bass lines and Hillborg’s raw vocals. Bentan’s drumming delivers a powerful, driving beat that immediately sets the pace. The band’s experience shines through: every note is perfectly placed, every transition feels organic.
Robert Pehrsson’s mix gives “Intruder” a clear, yet never sterile soundscape. The instruments take center stage, while the vocals sound raw and authentic. The album sounds accessible without losing the band’s classic sleazy-rock charm. The dynamic interplay between the fast, aggressive passages and the melodic moments is particularly well done.
With “Intruder,” GLORIOUS BANKROBBERS once again demonstrate their ability to reinterpret tried-and-tested ’80s sleazy hard rock in a rejuvenated way. The album impresses with tight interplay, creative song structures, and the balance between melody and punchy energy. The only minor criticism: some tracks could have been shortened a bit more without losing their dramatic impact.
Anyone who appreciates GLORIOUS BANKROBBERS’ early work and of course classic rock n’ roll, will love “Intruder”. The band manages to combine their experience and distinctive style with fresh ideas. It’s an album that appeals to both fans and new listeners, proving that Swedish sleazy hard rock is far from obsolete.
