IT’sALIE are a dynamic hard rock band fronted by powerhouse vocalist Giorgia Colleluori (also known for her work with Eternal Idol and Rock Meets Classic). With her commanding voice and magnetic stage presence, Giorgia leads the band through a mix of melodic hooks, crushing riffs, and pure rock attitude.
Since their formation, IT’sALIE have built a reputation for delivering explosive live performances and crafting songs that fuse classic hard rock roots with a modern edge. Their debut album introduced the band’s fierce energy to the world, and now “Wild Games” pushes that sound further – bold, passionate, and unmistakably IT’sALIE.
Produced with the help of Mat Sinner (who also play bass) and mixed by Magnus Karlsson, ”Wild Games” takes listeners on a journey through the real r’n’r emotions. The band specifically wanted a hard and heavy sound that comes from the blues and returns to the blues, allowing Giorgia to give full vent to her power, echoing the likes of Janis Joplin and Ann Wilson within a sound that that shows influences of Southern Rock, Black Sabbath and everything in between! Each track looks to be loud and proud, bold and unapologeatically heavy classic rock.

The disc opens with the band’s new single Waiting For The Rain, it’s fair to say this encapsulates what they are about – the essence of hard rock, a hypnotic, high-energy groove, a gritty yet melodic voice, and a suitably explosive guitar solo that leaves its mark.
Next up is One Way To Rock, a headlong slab of 80’s NWOBHM with Georgia and (I think!) Matt contesting the vocals. As the song develops I’m reminded strongly of Rainbow’s I Wanna Love You All Night Long – and the sentiments of the songs are closely entwined. Maybe not too much originality here, but hey, this is good fun!

Living In The City continues in the same vein, again see the video below. Very 80’s but a great demonstration of Georgia really letting rip on this one – VERY Ann Wilson, what a great performance, with an excellent lead solo towards the end, this is a really strong, classic dose of good-time rock, I love it! If possible, Georgia ramps it up further on History Remains, a more considered, bluesy number but with her scaling vocal peaks in a visceral, passionate performance that is underpinned by a really taut band sound and more tasty lead licks from Leonardo.
The same pattern is repeated somewhat in Believers Of Leaders, it’s good but a little samey without reaching the heights achieved on the last two tracks.

Rebels brings a rougher, Southern Blues edge to the band’s sound. Some nice slide guitar competes with a jagged riff, while Georgia struts her stuff. Bring It On reverts to a more pacey, 80’s vibe which is okay without pulling up too many trees.
Like a lot of bands these days, It’sALIE can rattle off melodic heavy rock or metal numbers almost by rote, it can easily sound formulaic and derivative after a few numbers or a full album. That’s not to say that the performances aren’t at all bad, Georgia and Leonardo both individually excellent….it’s just that I pine for some originality, something genuinely new and innovative within the Classic Rock Canon. That’s where, for example, The Damn Truth hit the sweet spot in their sheer variety across an album’s worth of material?

Gates Of Faith ploughs the same furrow, despite the efforts of the lead two, the basic riffery and overall mood is very samey…Wake Up Call is better for not having that “chugga-chugga” riff and back-beat (I seem to be using that description an awful lot these days…) The overall arrangement is more inventive even if Georgia sounds like she’s on the edge of her range at times, a little too frenetic? Great solo from Leonardo though!

Death Road is back to Chuggachuggaland I’m afraid, but Spirits is a really strong return to form – it’s slower, more melodic by virtue of not being always swamped in riffery, the spaces between the notes allow the song to develop and be felt, and Georgia’s voice is softer, more captivating as a result. A full album of hollering might appeal to some but we all need some light and shade to appreciate the nuances of emotions in music.
So – all in all, this is a worthy production, some excellent individual performances but a whole album’s worth in one sitting leaves me craving variety… Vive La Difference?
