With the recent new TED NUGENT release, we remembered this Nugent show from 1982 that really rocks.
Recorded live at Cobo Hall in Detroit, MI, USA on September 3, 1982, this is one of the few, if not the only, good sounding recording from the U.S. Tour to promote his album “Nugent” (1982). Personally I think “Nugent” is one of Uncle Ted’s most underrated platters. The set list contain songs that are rarely, if ever, performed by Nugent anymore.
The sound quality here is above average for a bootleg professionally captured for FM radio broadcast. This is taken from the “Captured Live!” RKO Radio Networks 3-vinly / 5-sided LP’s prepared to be aired 1983.
However, there was other pressing made for the Radio Show called “The Source” which was aired a month after (October) the concert was recorded. And included two classic Nugent songs performed that night though not present in this RKO Radio Networks; “Stranglehold” and ”Wango Tango”. Both are included here as extra, so this is the complete show.
The line-up kills, showcasing the return of singer Derek St. Holmes, and the awesome Carmine Appice on drums. All the band rocks hard, firing on all cylinders.
