TEMPLE BALLS – Temple Balls (2026) *HQ*

Finnish hard rockers TEMPLE BALLS are ready to unleash their new self-titled studio album “Temple Balls“, out on February 13, 2026, via Frontiers Music.
Temple Balls are back continuing the sonic evolution started with their latest work, Avalanche, and delivering an even more personal and refined sound. Once again produced by H.E.A.T’s Jona Tee, the album boasts anthemic choruses, high-energy guitar work, and a thunderous rhythm section – classic Temple Balls, but bolder and better.
The band commented: “After releasing four albums, it felt like we have found ourselves a preferred sound and a way to write our music. The northern darkness brings, depending on the listener, its bitter or tickling side taste into our way of interpreting hard rock. So naturally, it’s about a time to release an album carrying our divisive band’s name”.
This new release takes no prisoners. It’s a statement of intent: Temple Balls are here to stay, and ready to expand their global fanbase with a sound that’s bigger, louder, and more powerful than ever.
While the songwriting and recordings took place for this latest self-titled effort, guitarist Niko Vuroela lost his battle fighting cancer on October 30, 2025. The band (as well as Niko) wanted this material to be released, and so we have this fifth studio record.
Those familiar with these musicians understand they have a solid knack of putting across infectious songs, constructing riffs and melodies that become addictive right away while leaving memories of the greatness of 80s/early 90s related artists from North America and their conventional European roots.
Opener “Flashback Dynamite” has that bouncy, stadium-rock attack through its drum/guitar combinations, vocalist Arde Teronen soaring through the chorus as the additional evil ‘flashback’ voice provides additional dynamic contrast. Obvious affinity for the land of the rising sun comes up within “Tokyo Love”, the main riffs conjure up images of the attractiveness Japan offers, the lead work of Niko’s blazing in that heroic mold that rivals Akiri Takasaki from the legendary Loudness.
Bassist Jimi Välikangas provides a groovy underpinning to the mid-tempo cruise worthy “We Are the Night”, the calmer verses building momentum to an ideal chorus payoff that could be a future audience singalong favorite.
When the group ramps up the energy factor, they showcase more of their Judas Priest/Accept-like intensity with “Hellbound”, while on the other side “Stronger Than Fire” illustrates the commercialized, AOR-ish angle the band can display, another big song in terms of the vocal harmonies and Def Leppard-ish musical hooks. The eleven songs possess enough rough and tumble attitude that deserves to be cranked at peak volumes – with that added Finnish northern darkness atmosphere against the more melodic twists.
Continuing their long-standing relationship with Jona Tee of H.E.A.T as a producer plus additional songwriter ensures Temple Balls won’t stay stagnant in terms of really keying in on quality material, every detail important to facilitate memorable songs for the modern generation to enjoy.
We are still uncertain what the future of this group holds – but if in fact this is their final record, they have gone out in thunderous glory.
