German guitar wizard AXEL RUDI PELL will present the next,upcoming studio album ”Ghost Town” next Friday. These 10 new tracks (plus ‘Intro’) are packed with Pell’s characteristic guitar riffs, anthemic nature, and the sensational vocals of unique frontman Johnny Gioeli. And of course, the drumming o legendary Bobby Rondinelli excel as well. German metal legend Udo Dirkschneider appears on the song ‘Breaking Seals’
Pell produced with Tommy Geiger (Blind Guardian, Helloween), the latter also at charge of the mix, providing a killer sharp output.
First single, title track ‘Ghost Town’ is a solid melodic hard rocker and showcases what a powerhouse vocalist Gioelli is after nearly 35 years in the business, sounding as strong as he has ever been. The rest of the album is a mix of midtempo rockers and dark, ’80s melodic metal inspired numbers, a favorite being ‘The Enemy Within’. ARP chooses not to go flashy, emphasizing atmosphere over technicality. This is a tune that is strongly reminiscent of the Tony Martin-era Black Sabbath.
