DEADLINE were a 4 piece Melodic Hard Rock band from Yorkshire, England formed in 1999 and disbanded in 2005. However, they do not dissolved, in fact, the band secretively changed its name in 2005 to become Crimes Of Passion, later recording an EP released by themselves under the same name.
Crimes Of Passion is still active and we featured their two albums already, and there’s also an alternate version of the band commanded by founder Kev Tonge, known as C.O.P. UK, both very strong outfits.
But let’s go back to DEADLINE. They were formed from the merging of two bands; Rotherham’s band ”Promise” and Doncaster band ”Joe Lazarus”. Members were Kev Tonge (Drums), Kris Hudson-Lee (Bass Guitar), Andy Lindsay (Guitar), and Dale Radcliffe (Vocals).

In 2004 DEADLINE recorded a set of demos, tapes that were put together on this release titled “Mind The Step“, appeared via an indie label. These are pretty rough recordings, some with a basic mix & mastering, but very good in songwriting and musicality. The material is much more Melodic Hard Rock oriented than the band’s subsequent work.
This ”Mind The Step [Expanded Edition +3]” re-released later includes 3 bonus tracks, also really fine songs with superior production. A quite rare and hard to find album.
