The man has a golden voice, and pleased us as lead singer for the awesome THE STORM, 707, STEEL BREEZE, TWO FIRES albums: KEVIN CHALFANT released his debut solo album back in 1997, titled “Running With The Wind“. This is the 2006 reissue including as bonus previously unreleased track.
Chalfant was rumored to take Steve Perry’s place in Journey back in ’88. Then in the mid ’90s before Journey’s Trial By Fire, he was in the group doing a few shows for the band. In fact, Journey was to start recording with Chalfant, when Perry decided he wanted back in Journey. So you know the kind of pipes the man has!

”Running With The Wind” was done between the two THE STORM albums, and has a more laid back, melodic rock feel musically. The first 5 songs on the CD are just plain fantastic. The soul coming from Kevin’s voice is beyond belief.
All over the album he demonstrates he is not a Steve Perry clone. The song ‘Love Changes Everything’ is a good example of this – being a ballad, you can hear even in more detail Chalfant’s particualar phrasing. Btw, awesome song.
Surrounded by capable musicians – including talented Chas Sandford on guitar, backing vocals and co-producing – KEVIN CHALFANT released a lovable debut record.
