The late Jim Steinman and Meat Loaf legacy is alive and kickin’ with NEVERLAND TRAIN‘s debut album “Alive in Hell“.
NEVERLAND TRAIN is Jens Faber’s tribute to Jim Steinman. The multi-talented artist from Bochum is the mastermind behind the metal band Dawn Of Destiny, and here he honors the great songwriter and producer who once helped Meat Loaf, Bonnie Tyler and Fire Inc. achieve worldwide fame.
He has enlisted the strong support of Marco Pastorino (Temperance, Fallen Sanctuary) and former Dawn Of Destiny drummer Patrick Klose (Iron Saivor).
The album features not only the “full version” of the lead single “Somewhere in this Universe,” but also the previously announced duet with Jeanette Scherff (Dawn Of Destiny) and Aeva Maurelle on the Steinman classic “Tonight Is What It Means To Be Young” from the film “Streets of Fire” (later adapted for the musical “Dance of the Vampires”).
You like it or not, Steinman’s production / songwriting marked an era in popular music, and are not easy to emulate. But NEVERLAND TRAIN has done a terrific job with great tunes such as “Still Alive”, “Somewhere in This Universe” and the faithful cover of Fire Inc. “Tonight is What It Means To Be Young” from the fantastic “Streets of Fire” soundtrack – great underrated 80’s movie as well.

Neverland Train’s “Alive In Hell” is a very good tribute to the grand theatrical world of Jim Steinman. Known for his work with Dawn Of Destiny and Legions Of The Night, Jens Faber channels Steinman’s larger‑than‑life drama into a new project built on sweeping melodies, bold arrangements and unapologetically cinematic flair.
With Marco Pastorino adding his powerful vocals and former Dawn Of Destiny drummer Patrick Klose driving the rhythm section, the album embraces the spirit of Steinman, celebrating everything that is epic, emotional and gloriously over the top.
