Edsel Music is about to release ”The Temple of the King 1975-1976”, a 9-CD box set which marks 50 years since the formation of RAINBOW and the release of the debut album ‘Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow‘.
The set includes the first two studio albums, and a trilogy of live albums from Rainbow’s debut world tour, documenting the band’s first shows in Europe with gigs from Cologne, Dusseldorf and Nuremberg. All these have been previously released, most of the featured at 0dayrox already.
Perhaps the most interesting disc is the last, CD 9, titled ‘Rarities‘, including, indeed, rare versions, single edits, radio-versions, etc. As standalone release, Edsel will release ‘Rarities’ tomorrow as digital download.
Among the rarities we find ‘Temple of the King (Bolivian Mono Mix)’ especially made for Bolivian / South America AM radio broadcast, a short version of the classic ‘Man on the Silver Mountain (Stereo Edit)’, ‘Stargazer (Pirate Sound Tour Rehearsal)’, and more.
