SUZI QUATRO – Freedom (2026) *HQ*

Some legends rest on their laurels. SUZI QUATRO keeps writing songs before breakfast.
At 75, the Detroit-born rock icon who sold 55 million albums, broke down doors for women in rock, and made Leather Tuscadero a household name, is releasing her 18th studio album, ”Freedom” – her third collaboration with her son, producer and guitarist L.R. Tuckey.
The title track hits like a freight train: upbeat, snappy, unapologetically in-your-face. It’s the kind of song that could soundtrack any movie, any moment when you need to throw your hands up and reclaim yourself.
“It’s all about getting back to who you are, and it applies universally,” Suzi explains, her energy crackling through the conversation like it always has. “We all wear masks to get by in this world. For me it’s all about being comfortable in your own skin, having nothing to prove to anyone, and not accepting any BS. This is the journey this album takes you on. Here I am, warts and all. Take it or leave it. Choose yourself…and finally FREEDOM.”
That word—FREEDOM—isn’t just an album title. It’s a philosophy, a battle cry, a very important reality in the world we’re living in today. And when Suzi sings it, she throws her hands up in the air, because that’s what freedom looks like when you’ve spent five decades refusing to compromise.
Suzi also asked Alice Cooper to do a duet in a cover of Detroit hard rock pioneers MC5 song ”Kick Out the Jams”. Cooper – Suzi’s friend since she was 15, a witness to her entire career, a fellow Detroit native who understands exactly what those three chords mean – was exited to do it. Five minutes later, they were in Detroit recording the track. And it’s an awesome version.
