By the dawn of the current millennium resulted hard to believe that one of melodic rock’s finest and most loved vocalists has taken so long to record his debut solo album. TERRY BROCK (Strangeways, The Sign, Seventh Key) spent most of his career making other people look good. For years this humble guy has been lending his talents to an array of other artists and has never strived for solo glory.
In a fair and just world Terry Brock should be a household name. In a career spanning decades, Terry has carved himself a resume of incredible depth, with many of his appearances unsung. When your debut gig is singing background vocals for the rather well known band Kansas on their “Drastic Measures” album, you must know you are onto a good thing!
Fortunately, in 2001 TERRY BROCK was able to release this solo debut album “Back To Eden“, a wonderful collection of sublime Melodic Rock / AOR songs. With a co-songwriting partnership with the likes of Jim Peterik, Mark Mangold, Joe Lynn Turner, Peter Bliss, Bob Held, and more… how can you go wrong with this album?
As extra, we added the exclusive Japanese edition bonus track.

Even before joining Strangeways, his break-through band, Terry was appearing as vocalist for the Steve Morse Band, recording with cult AOR band Network and worked in Atlanta with Johnny Van Zant.
But Strangeways is what most of us know and love Terry for and the sound of those two classic AOR albums he recorded with them is what he returns to on “Back To Eden”. Big hooks, soaring choruses and his emotion filled trademark rock ballads.

After Strangeways, Terry quickly gathered a solid reputation and made a good career from studio session work and found himself singing for some major names. Look carefully through your albums liner notes, you will see his name on such melodic classics as Aviator, Heaven’s Edge, Valentine, Britny Fox and a trilogy of Michael Bolton albums – “Everybody’s Crazy”, “Time Love & Tenderness” and “Soul Provider” (you may also recognize a few of his bits and pieces in the “Audio Life Dream” intro of this album).

In a tribute to the immense talent Brock holds, before recording this solo debut LP, the Nineties have seen Terry residing in New York where he worked as a studio musician for both rock, pop and country artists. Listen carefully and you will hear his voice on over 100 American TV commercials.

On “Back To Eden”, Terry shares his writing credit with such greats as Survivor’s Jim Peterik, Joe Lynn Turner, Bob Held plus fellow The Sign member Mark Mangold. The other two names involved are Terry’s songwriting partners from the past few years – Frank Fogerty and Rafe Van Hoy.
“Back To Eden” is a fitting name, as it celebrates a sound that his long time fans have called and hoped for.
