A day like today, April 27th, 1951, Guitarist of a generation, ACE ‘Spaceman’ FREHLEY, is born. And while Ace leave us past year, his music will be forever ‘alive’.
To celebrate his birthday, we made this compilation of unreleased songs, rare recordings demos, alternate takes, etc – a 16-track titled ACE FREHLEY‘s ‘Spaceman Tapes Vol. 1‘. Many of these tracks were traded for years among fan clubs, KISS fanatics, collectors, etc, but we never heard them in the great sound quality we are featuring here.
This isn’t taken from regular cassettes – which usually are copies from good sources but lose quality in the process – the songs into ‘Spaceman Tapes Vol. 1’ are actually lossless files, taken from first generation tapes, reel-to-reel machines, DAT.
Here we find demo versions of songs later full-production recorded (and some are even better, rawer in demo form!) and many others never released.
Ace was a unique musician. Many thanks for the music and the memories. You are missed…
