In 1984, ACE FREHLEY began his post- KISS solo career by assembling a band that included, among others, drummer Anton Fig (who had performed on Frehley’s 1978 solo album and on two KISS albums), bassist John Regan (who had worked with Peter Frampton) whom Frehley met in 1980, vocalist / guitarist Richie Scarlet and keyboardist Arthur Stead.
The group, whose name alternated between ‘Ace Frehley’ and ‘Frehley’s Comet’, recorded a series of demos throughout 1983 and 1985, most of which ended up, albeit in very different forms, on one or other of the subsequent Frehley’s Comet albums, released in 1987 and 1988.
This just released 2026 well done bootleg CD “ACE FREHLEY The Demos Collection 1983-1995” features amazing recordings mostly from 1984-1985, including a song written by Vinnie Vincent (he & Ace had the same manager at the time), and other by Jeff Paris. Some of the songs featured here are unreleased. Frehley also recorded some further demos in 1995, all of which are now included on this collection of Ace’s demos.
Most of these demos circulated among fans for decades, however the sound quality on this CD is better.
