Take a look at the cover art, the band’s name, the album’s title, that “Parental Advisory” sticker… is this a lost 1987 album? Is this a crappy IA project? Nope, it’s a brand new album created by real musicians.
CHROME VANITY is the high-octane solo project of veteran Los Angeles bassist & producer Matt Geinitz. A seasoned road warrior, Matt has toured the country providing the low-end thunder for national acts like Six Gun Sal, The Alibi, and currently holds it down for LA metal outfit Sweet Corvette.
What began as a personal passion project has rapidly transformed into a breakout success following the viral momentum of the lead single, “The Blackout Parade.”
“Switchblade Serenade” is the 10-track debut album from CHROME VANITY, with all those clichés we all love from the ’80s, but some darn fantastic songs to boot. This is not a cheap glam metal, but a bombastic, infectious “all-killer-no-filler” sonic assault that runs on Matt‘s favorite genre of music – Swedish sleaze / melodic hard rock – and the gritty, high-speed adrenaline of Street metal.
It’s not coincidence that Matt sports a HARDCORE SUPERSTAR T-shirt in a Facebook photo captured while he was hand signing “Switchblade Serenade” physical CD’s. CHROME VANITY sounds a lot like them, but also KISSIN’ DYNAMITE, early DYNAZTY, CRASHDIET, SHOTGUN MESSIAH, etc.

There’s no place for ballads on “Switchblade Serenade” – all songs are full-blown on massive choruses and big guitars.
With titles such as ‘Dead By Morning’, ‘Whiskey & Cyanide’, ‘Straightjacket Symphony’, ‘Bastards of the Boulevard’ you know what to expect… but all is really, really well done. Matt Geinitz promises there is not AI used in the creation of the album. Not sure about that… but he wrote all the music & lyrics and it’s the face of CHROME VANITY. What do you think?
