After featuring here the remastered reissue of the SHERIFF album, and ZION project, both fronted by Canadian FREDDY CURCI (also the voice for celebrated AOR act ALIAS) some of you asked for more of his music. And “Then & Now” does the trick.
After almost a decade not releasing music, Curci put out in 2000’s this self-explanatory titled CD: ”Then & Now” compiles his best known songs that were very popular back in the ’80s / early ’90s, plus new material.
We find a very good live version of SHERIFF’s number 1 hit “When I’m With You”, the Top-10 ALIAS hits “More Than Words Can Say” and “Waiting For Love”, and songs from his solo 1994 solo album ‘Dreamer’s Road’ featuring some amazing musicians such as Abraham Laboriel, Marco Mendoza, Mike Baird, former ALIAS bandmate Steve DeMarchi, and more. Elsewhere there’s previously unreleased tracks, and while Canadian, Curci origins are Italian, and he performs some cuts in this language as well.

As a whole ”Then & Now” is very easy listening, and while there’s a couple of rockers overall this is a collection of great FM radio-ready tunes and melodic ballads with a classy sound – all made to enjoy FREDDY CURCI’s unique voice color. ”Then & Now” is out of print now, and pretty expensive.
