GODSNAKE – Inhale The Noise (2026) *HQ*

320_1 /// 320_2 /// HQ 1 /// HQ 2
Hailing from Hamburg, GODSNAKE released their first EP in 2014. However, it took several years before the band delivered their full-length debut. They finally closed that gap with ‘Poison Thorn’ in 2020. Now, in 2026, the metal outift returns with their third studio album, “Inhale the Noise,” once again released via Massacre Records.
Musically GODSNAKE blends groove metal, thrash, and power, but all served in the clean, punchy mix & production of the melodic metal style.
Eschewing any extraneous intros or soundscapes, GODSNAKE keeps the focus squarely on ten potent tracks where the essence of strong, memorable riffs and powerful tempos combined with equally engaging vocals represent the tools of trade to ultimate win them over capacities.
Guitarists Stevo and Pepe Pierez lay down some sinister, chunky axe parts, complete with the right staccato-ish twists or power transitions that collect massive windmill incidents of the hair, head, or neck variety. Sidney’s drumming is crisp, precise when necessary in key chorus segments, yet thorough in its double kick / snare to cymbal hit propulsion – check out the metallic groove accents on early standout “Lost & Forgotten”.
After the opening triple-headed attack, “Enemy of Great” showcases more of the band’s epic, harmony-laden side where the instrumental sequences breathe in a little more circular, melodic shapes – the slower hitting riffs very magnetic, as vocalist Torger executes the verses and bridge/chorus in a deeper, thoughtful bellow a la classic Matt Barlow. His ability to hit the right pain points and emotional inflections through his phrasing, themes, and natural lower to higher note ascension takes songs like the bouncy “Rotten to the Core” and “Creator of Shame” to upper echelon supremacy, displaying the breadth (plus depth) of metal’s diversity.
Laying on the accelerator to recall those old school thrash ways for “Digital Dumbass”, the current relevancy lyrically conveys a topic we all face wading through the murky ties that social media and cell phone technology place upon us daily.
Where the band could garner a wider birth beyond the normal pockets of metalheads in terms of appeal comes into the quieter to heavier shifts on “Fear Is the Key” – its semi-ballad meets groove / power metal foundational components along with addictive vocal harmony sequences sure to keep people bouncing like pogo sticks – another six-minute plus dynamic song to treasure. Even the supplementary guest solos that come up on three tracks by Jean Bormann of Rage provide tasty coloring without overshadowing the quality songwriting and solid performances on display.
”Inhale the Noise” elevates GODSNAKE to other quality level a la many of their Teutonic brethren – hopefully taking other parts of the world by storm if you enjoy a crunchy, driving form of melodic power / thrash that doesn’t sound as cookie-cutter or similar sounding as most in this genre.
