Ready for its 50th anniversary, Edsel Records is releasing Ritchie Blackmore’s RAINBOW “Live in Köln Sporthalle 25.9.1976”, a wonderfully remastered fresh version of the legendary concert by Blackmore, Ronnie James Dio, Cozy Powell, Tony Carey and Jimmy Bain in Cologne, Germany, during their first tour.
This is a remastered version of the show, included into the Edsel released a box set a month ago. Now they are presenting “Live in Köln Sporthalle 25.9.1976” as standalone album.
Need to comment about the performances? Simply fantastic.
Many songs are over 10 minutes long, and you know when Blackmore begins to fly over the fretboard… things happen. Ronnie James Dio is stupendous as usual, and we have Cozy, Tony Carey, Jimmy Bain… well, you know… that magic.
