In 2002, after twelve years lead vocalist Tony Mills left the band, nobody would have guessed that premier British AOR / Melodic Hard Rock act SHY would come up with a superb new record: “Unfinished Business”. Yesterday we featured SHY’s “Unfinished Business” in its Japanese edition. Now to make it more complete, here’s the quite rare EP “Breakaway” their record label Z Records released mostly as promo, before the full length album.
The CD includes the excellent title track “Breakaway” – one of our favorite SHY songs of all time – but in its alternate mix. Same with the strong rocker ‘No Other Way’.
But what makes this “Breakaway EP” a collectible and so enjoyable are the 3 acoustic versions of SHY ’80s classic tunes; ‘Emergency (Acoustic Version), Reflections (Acoustic Version), and Young Heart (Acoustic Version). Very good, lovely versions of these great tunes – exclusive to this EP.
