ACACIA AVENUE – Chapter V (2026) *0dayrox Exclusive*
To be released next May 29, 2026, “Chapter V” is the upcoming new album from ACACIA AVENUE, the band founded by Torben Enevoldsen (FATE, FATAL FORCE, SECTION A). After the release of ACACIA AVENUE’s fourth album ”Worlds Apart” (2018), Torben was busy working on his instrumental solo stuff, as well as writing and recording for ROB MORATTI, PINNACLE POINT, DECOY and FATE. In between these sessions however, Enevoldsen found the time to write new music for this fifth ACACIA AVENUE album.
As usual, he asked a few good friends along for the ride, so this new album features Peer Johansson (NOW OR NEVER, FATE), Peter Sundell (C.O.P., DECOY), Dagfinn Joensen (BLOODY DICE), as well as the late, great Tony Mills (SHY, TNT) on vocals. Pete Steincke (FATE) split the bass duties with Enevoldsen, who also played the keyboards and guitars himself, as well as doing lead- and background vocals on a few songs. Dennis Hansen (FATAL FORCE) once again did the drums.
“Chapter V” is pure class melodic hard rock with a classic rock touches here and there. It’s great to hear Tony Mills again in a reworked song from ACACIA AVENUE’s first album. Enevoldsen also does a pretty awesome cover of TOTO’s ‘Gypsy Train’.
“Chapter V” opens in classic hard rock style with a strong guitar and rhythm presence and lovely Hammond Organ touches, featuring Peer Johansson on vocals who delivers a solid vocal with a cool raspy tone, a track with a DEEP PURPLE / RAINBOW vibe.
“Longest Time” switch to trad Scandinavian melodic rock plenty of sweet guitars, keys and a big chorus with the vocal duties falling to C.O.P. frontman Peter Sundell, a wonderful catchy song. Next up the man behind this project lends his pipes to “Stand Your Ground”, Torben’s voice has a more bluesier tone, while the guitars & rhythm have an upbeat melody along with the positive lyrics which both contribute to deliver this solid track, much in the current EUROPE style.
“Life Of A Hundred Years” features Dagfinn Joensen (BLOODY DICE) on vocals and the track is a punchy hard rocker including an atmospheric passage with all the modern Scandi sound both in arrangements and production. A highlight.
Legend Tony Mills shines in the rework of “Wait No More 2.0”, an 80s sounding track now with an updated instrumentation and production. Killerrrr.
“Nothing Else To Do” is a guitar driven track with some great guitar tones and runs. A slow, midtempo cover of DAN REED NETWORK “Rainbow Child” is another album highlight with Enevoldsen on vocals.
“Stand Up” has some bright prominent keys with vocals again by Peter Sundell, a catchy energised earworm melody which takes you back to late 80s, with a 1986 VAN HALEN vibe. TOTO’s ”Gypsy Train” is, of course, very busy instrumentally, and rocks as Torben added a ‘thrashy’ rhythm guitar which sound cool!
“Standing On The Outside” is another hard / classic rock number which motors along with the vocals falling to Peer Johansson once more. The album comes to a close with Toben on vocals for “All Of The Time” which is a big AOR number which has a Journey and Foreigner feel – there’s a big keys presence and the guitars soar throughout – a definite arena filling track.
“Chapter V” is another very goog album for the ACACIA AVENUE project and Torben Enevoldsen. The album flows with the perfect balance of Hard Rock / Melodic Rock / Classic Rock tracks which are delivered with style & panache. A varied yet cohesive album full of singers with strong vocals backed by some superb musicians.
