BACKSTREET GIRLS is a legend in Norwegian rock history with over 40 years on the road and in the studio, having released more than a dozen of successful albums. However, they also suffered from the merciless music business executives.
Recorded at Ambience Studio, Oslo, Norway, June & July 1994, BACKSTREET GIRLS’ album “Don’t Fake It Too Long” never was released back in the day. The record company said “it’s out of fashion”. Then in 2008 it was given a limited release on vinyl, and disappeared again.
The album was reissued on CD in 2021 through the crowd funding project Norske Albumklassikere, for the first time on CD and fully remastered. “Don’t Fake It Too Long” never will be on streaming as the ‘Albumklassikere’ focus is to preserve art on physical format.
”Don’t Fake It Too Long” would have been BACKSTREET GIRLS 6th album, and perhaps among their best: a catchy cocktail of hard rock & boogie rock like a mix of AC/DC, STATUS QUO, and HANOI ROCKS.
