Masterminded by multi-instrumentalist Frank Us, LEGACY PILOTS is one of the most original melodic progressive bands from the current scene, delivering a musical palette ranging from rock&pop, AOR to classic rock not forgetting its roots of prog rock.
”Camera Obscura” is the largest and most elaborate production the Pilots have ever made. This new work is somewhat unusual, as it is split across two separate CDs: CAMERA OBSCURA Volume I and Volume II.
In addition to classic progressive elements, Volume I also offers some calmer, atmospheric moments, while ”Volume II” ventures into darker, more extravagant, and perhaps even eccentric realms.
The new recording once again features many familiar faces from previous productions: STYX’s Todd Sucherman on drums, Marco Minnemann (Steven Wilson, Mike Keneally), Jake Livgren (nephew of Kansas’ icon Kerry), Finally George, Lars Slowak, ex Deep Purple Steve Morse, Pete Trewavas, and John Mitchell (Arena, Frost*, Lonely Robot). New to the Pilots are Seth Hankerson (guitar solos) and Kai Weidle.
