With the just released final LYNCH MOB album we featured here, one of you requested the killer disc GEORGE LYNCH recorded more than two decades ago; “Furious George“, an out of print CD quite expensive now.
“Furious George” brings Lynch’s guitar playing to a new level of shredding. The album is a collection of cover tunes with extensive guitar solos that will leave his legion of fans pointing and staring, as their speakers melt in the guitar fury.
Lynch exhibits an awareness, sensitivity and mastery of a variety of styles on this record as he navigates musical territory originally trod on by artists such as Montrose, Deep Purple, Grand Funk Railroad, Mountain, Cactus, and more.
Lynch states, “I tried to narrow the focus and keep this a late ’60s / early ’70s era Rock record, and I think that was a good decision. These were my influences after all.”
With an impressive line up including vocalist Kelly Keeling (Baton Rouge), drummer Jeff Martin (Racer X, Badlands), bassist Gunter Nezhoda (Pat Travers), organ player Mark Robertson (James LaBrie, MacAlpine) and friend / guitar tech Kevin Curry (Kevin DuBrow, Michael Schenker), these songs rock hard!
